The adventure continues!

Do you have the post AJ2019 Blues? There is plenty of adventure still to be found!

In the 1980's and 1990's

The Group stabilised in size after the baby boomer peak period. It continued to attract members of all ages of both sexes.

In the mid 2000's

The Group reviewed its strategic plan to ensure that it continue to succesfully operate, even though it recognised that it needed to upgrade its facilities. In 2007, the Scout Group proposed to the City of Unley, with the support of the Cities of Burnside and Mitcham that a Community Recreation Centre be built on Ridge Park. The Scout Group would lease rooms in that facility for its operation. This concept was not accepted by the City of Unley.  So the Group had then to find incremental methods of upgrading its facilities under its own fund raising.

In recent years

Scout Hall 2007

 Scout Hall 2014

With the support of our Leader and Group Support Committee our group:

  • had the building assessed
  • had the site surveyed
  • has refurbished the kitchen
  • had 12 pine trees removed whose roots were effecting the footings of the building. This area was then paved and some native plant gardens created
  • had replaced our 46 year-old asbestos roof (accomplished 2016)
  • had the floor sanded and painted               (accomplished 2016)
  • had the hall windows replaced                   (accomplished Feb 2017)
  • had installed a new air conditioning            (accomplished Feb 2017)
  • had built "L" shape verandah                     (accomplished  2018)
